We set out in early 2011 to create a formalized national network of Farm Advocates – and by August that year welcomed a diverse group of over 100 established and aspiring Farm Advocates from around the country for the first annual National Meeting of Farm Advocates. Since then, drawing on the energy of dozens of grassroots farm organizations, we have formalized the national advocates network under The Farm Advocate Link.
The Farm Advocate Link complements Farm Aid’s Farmer Resource Network and referral Hotline by providing training and support to the Farm Advocates upon which the Farmer Resource Network relies.
If you are interested in incorporating Farm Advocacy into your work, we recommend checking out this Farm Advocacy 101 webinar. Put together by our partners at RAFI-USA, this webinar dives deeper into who advocates are and the work they do.
