Now, more than ever, we need the ingenuity and hard work of farmers to reinvigorate local economies. In Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, rural and urban citizens are showing a way forward: building food systems that revitalize economies, create meaningful jobs and refortify the fabric of their communities. Homegrown Prosperity will gather community leaders, local, state and federal policymakers, farmers and others to celebrate the great promise of food to connect people and grow strong communities, and elevate the role of public institutions like land grant universities, state & municipal governments, the Appalachian Regional Commission in supporting these efforts.

Friday, Sept. 15

Farm Aid Farm Tours
Time: 12:15 pm – 4:30 pm
RSVP: Email Jennifer@farmaid.org to register

Join us for one of two very special tours to farms in and surrounding the Pittsburgh area. Farm tours offer a great opportunity for peer-to-peer exchange among farmers, as well as on-the-ground exploration of pressing issues facing local food systems.
